The story behind it all…

My name is Marli Gringeri and I am the owner of METABOLICSbyMG. I am a certified NASM Personal Trainer and Nutrition coach. I am extremely passionate about health, wellness, and fitness.

I graduated from Syracuse University ‘16, (GO ORANGE!) as a triple major in Finance, Marketing, and Entrepreneurship.

Growing up, my life revolved around sports. So, naturally fitness was an important part of my life. I was never the tiny girl on the team, but I always used to get comments like “you have such an athletic build” or “you’re so muscular for a girl.” That never phased me, but staying lean was not easy. When I decided not to play a collegiate sport, I focused on going to the gym. The weight room quickly became my place of stress relief and “me” time. I completed a mini tri-athlon and 2 half marathons.

From a young age, my parents always preached the importance of leading a healthy balanced life. Being so active, my mom constantly fueled me with nutrient dense foods. During college, I took a particular interest in nutrition, learning what a calorie was and what macro nutrients were. Eating healthy does not have to be boring and I don’t think enough people know that!

My mission is to show you that your mind and body can do amazing things when you challenge them. I want to help you integrate a healthy lifestyle, challenging yourself, feeling more energized and making yourself a better YOU.

If you are ready to take your own well-being to the next level, to learn and take control of your life then you are at the right place.

MY STORY

I was called “fat” by a friend in 8th grade. I was an athlete my entire life and hearing that was a true eye opener. I decided not to play a fall sport that year and found myself inside the gym. This turned into a routine which quickly became my concentration. I started off with cardio, a running circuit and then weight machines. I really fell in love with “working out.”

Two years later, the summer of 2010, I signed up for my first half marathon and completed it in Toronto alongside my best friend. My competitive attitude was fueled inside and outside of the gym. Whether I was asking the trainer for new workouts, pushing myself during a run or at practice, I LOVED IT!

Fast forward to freshman year of college, I began following my first workout “program” designed for lean muscle mass. My body totally transformed. With that, I began researching and expanding my knowledge within the health and fitness industry. Perfecting my form and different weight training styles became my focus.

I knew my passion was within health and fitness but I needed to focus on my Bachelor’s degree first. Upon graduation from Syracuse University, I enrolled in the NASM Personal Training Course and took the exam 3 months later!

Being able to do what I love and help others is the BEST reward!
